17th Get-together of Youth Triangle

In October the Youth Triangle Foundation, the forum that coordinates the Youth Councils of Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic islands, held the 17th edition of its get-together. For three days over 100 young people from 30 bodies in the three territories shared workshops, training sessions and experiences in the city of Tarragona.
This 2015 get-together was entitled “We are the key to change” and sought to raise young people’s awareness of being key agents when reclaiming freedoms that citizens have been losing. During the weekend the participants held meetings and exchanged projects, experiences and common demands.
The Youth Triangle Foundation organizes a get-together every year addressed to the representatives of the different bodies that belong to the Catalan National Youth Council (CNJC), the Valencian Youth Council (CJCV) and the Balearic Islands Youth Council (CJIB). The get-together, conceived as a forum for training, debate and mutual knowledge, aims to improve the quality of the associative’ movement and encourage young people’s participation in society.
We should mention that the Valencian and Balearic councils have seen their situation improve following the political change resulting from the latest autonomous community elections. On one hand, the CJCV has seen its budget significantly increased. On the other, the CJIB has begun working with the authorities to create a youth law that acknowledges it as an interlocutory body of young people on the islands that the Bauzà government suppressed in 2011.
