25th November: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

The CNJC’s gender committee decided to prepare a protest action on 25th November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

This year, organized young people wish to shine the spotlight on the male violence that is carried out especially within the couple and among teenagers.

If male violence is hard to detect, due to its being structural, its invisibility is accentuated when we tackle the sexist violence that affects, or is perpetrated by, teenagers. We are referring, for example, to abusive emotional and sexual relationships, situations of male violence caused by not behaving according to the dominant male and female stereotypes, and to sexist school bullying, harassment and assaults.

Communicative action has consisted of sharing photos on Twitter with messages to raising awareness and condemn what is considered everyday male violence between young people under 18, with the common hashtag #TambéÉsViolència.
